The Hemback Vise replaces a standard 6" vise and soft jaws used for custom part configurations. Reducing set up time, improving repeatability and eliminating the need to re-cut custom jaws for a repeat part set up were key factors in developing the Hemback Vise. Developed for a production CNC machine shop, the vise was tested, modified and tested again. Misalignment between the front and rear jaws is eliminated, there is no confusion between front and rear jaws and the only tools needed are a 3/8" ratchet drive and 7/16 deep socket.

Weighing in at only 7 pounds this vise generates over 1000 PSI clamping force at 25 ft/lb of torque. Some customers now use this vise almost exclusively for their small parts machining. While the vise was designed primarily for use on tombstones and pallet systems, it can be bolted directly to a sub-plate or machine table tee slot. They can be easily mounted side-by-side for extra long parts or parts requiring a larger work envelope. Double lead 1/2-13 custom lock bolts firmly and quickly fix the rear jaw in 1 of 4 locations allowing for parts of varying sizes. Jaw sizes are available in 1-1/2", 1-3/4", 2", 2-1/4" heights.
